Hunt for the Cure Participaing Vendor information 2013

First and for most we want to thank you all for participating in this hunt to help raise both money and awareness for breast cancer.

As you all saw in the notecard we sent to you we are encouraging hints to be given, the dead line for those is September 15th. If, after doing my final walk though of the hunt, I feel a shop’s or hunt item’s location might present some confusion to hunters I may add an additional “organizer’s tip” to make sure people have a idea of where to look.

We are accepting Hunt Item preview images that will be featured on our blog as well if you wish to submit one the dead line for that would be September 30th, they will go live on the blog on Oct 1st with the start of the hunt.

Once you have your hunt item ready, or you know where you will be hiding it please send me, (cali ciaco) an IM with a link to its slURL: I will be doing an initial walk through on or around September 15th to be sure that the hunt signs are out and that all provided locations for the shops are accurate, then a final walk through the day before the hunt goes live (September 30th) any shops that do not have their hunt item out and ready by then will be excluded from the list.

To set up the hunt item you need to:

  1. Box up your hunt gift. (We request that if you were or are selling the gift in your store it would be worth at least 200$L you may put in more than one gift if you wish but they need to be boxed together, the script will give the first object in the ribbons inventory so for the full gift to be delivered there needs to be only one object in inventory.)
  2. Rez the Hunt ribbon. It will say “Please place the hunt gift object inside me, then touch me to reset.” Edit it and place your gift in its inventory.
  3. Touch the Ribbon. It will reset the script and prompt you for vender permissions. (If you would rather use an alternative account for this please send the name of that avatar to cali ciaco)
  4. Once permission has been given it will now be set up. When payed it will send 10L$ to you and then the money will be forwarded to :mused: (musedskynet), the gift will be given to the person who paid it and they will see “Thank you for your donation here is your gift.”

We will be posting the weekly total donated as well as the top five shops we are getting donations from every Sunday for duration of the Hunt and the final totals and top five on November 2nd after the hunt is over.

User Story: Jezzika Terasaur

One of the things I would love to do is to highlight users stories. Jezzika Terasaur has submitted one for us about her involvement in milkmade I hope you will enjoy it.

Not Just a Game Anymore

In 2011 I was involved in an accident with a drunk driver. Some friends and I were headed to the lake to celebrate my new job I just landed as a receptionist at a law firm which was great money. The jeep was loaded down with beer, poles, and all our camping stuff…including 4 propane cans for the camping equipment. I was just listening to the radio staring out the passenger window in the front seat. Two of my friends in the back.

We stop at an intersection that we had been, I swear, 5 million times. We were coming up to the light and the light had been red but then turned green so we didn’t slow down much. From nowhere an escalade came crashing into us. He was drunk going 60 through a red light into the intersection.

He hit our jeep so hard the back side of his vehicle swung around and hit our back side causing my friend’s head to go through the back window; fortunately he was alright. My friend behind me put his arm between the frame and my seat to move my head if he hadn’t broken his arm doing that I would have likely been decapitated because of the way I was sitting and the way I had my seat belt.

Upon impact I was the only one severely hurt because everyone else saw it and reacted but because I was not paying attention I was tossed like a rag doll. As a result the seat belt wrapped around my left breast and in the toss forward of the crash tightened and ripped skin, tissues, and milk glands. My friend who was driving kicked his door open because I was bleeding and drug me out of the car causing my bare feet to hit the shattered glass…they carried me to the grass where my body went into shock and I stopped breathing. I woke up in the ER head tapped to a board and barely able to talk. When everything was said and done I left with heavy cuts, glass still in my feet (they did not do a good job cleaning the cuts) and in the worst pain of my life.  It had only been 3 hours since the collision and the internal damage caused blood to build up in the lower side of my left breast which they had to constantly drain. For several weeks following the accident I had a tube kept in my breast to slowly drain any fluids that built up while I healed.

The damage done to my breast means that I may never be able to feed from my left breast, and scar tissue there puts me at a higher risk for cancer.

The drunk driver was fine.

To add insult to injury the friend who was driving was my boyfriend and a few weeks after the wreck he dumped me because he wanted his children breastfed and could not be with a broken woman. The scars I have been left with are honestly humiliating and it feels degrading to have to explain them.

When I started milkmade, it was a fun game, but it got me thinking about my own ability to make milk physically and I got curious. I started researching forced lactation. And found that was more easily achievable than I had thought.   I knew it could be done herbally and hormonally. I decided to try to see if I could produce, that I am not broken. I have begun herbal therapy to try to stimulate lactate and to see if I can still produce or if the damage was too severe. I want to know if I am able to make milk when and if I have children.

Milking is more than just a game for me now. It is a way to mend something inside and feel like a woman and not just something that takes up space failing to do one of the basic things that my sex should be capable of.

To some this is a game…to me it’s healing.

Hunt For The Cure 2013

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and :mused: is going to be organizing a hunt in the month of October (Oct 1, 2013- Nov 1-2013)  to help raise money for a Breast Cancer focused charity.  The Charity we have chosen is Breast Cancer Connections (you can check out their Charity Navigator Review for more information on them.)

How this hunt works:

  • The hunt item will be for sale for 10L$, this money does not go to the shop owner but to an avatar that has been set up to manage the funds for donation.
  • The totals earned will be posted at the end of each week through out the hunt.
  • We ask that the item or items being given out in the hunt be worth at least 200L$ if it was for sale normally. (Item can be a pre-existing product of your own, you are not required to make a new exclusive product for this event)
  • The hunt item will be a pink breast cancer awareness ribbon and we ask that it be with in 20 m of the landing point (or shop entrance if you are on a region with an override)
  • We encourage Hints be given and will have them listed on the web site during the Hunt
