Hair, your boobs, and you

This week we have a user submitted post from Mrs. Asrai Lune (shi.wildrose) She offers some advice and opinions on finding some good hair to work with your lovely breasts.

Finding hair that works with all the mesh and prim avatar enhancements can be hard. Many creators have have felt the need to accommodate this growing demand for hair that actually goes around and over the boobs, not straight through them. As someone who wears mesh boobs almost all of the time I have been lucky enough to stumble across a few creators who do this, some on purpose, some by accident.

Magika
The very popular store Magika has a few hairs from their ever growing selection that work for mesh breasts, though none specifically made for them, including ‘Visit’, ‘Moment’, ‘Calm’, ‘Electricity’, and ‘Push’ to name a few.

TRUTH
Another great and well known brand for hair is TRUTH, though some of their hair is actually made for boobs they don’t advertise that well. Some hairs I’ve found there include ‘Lovers’, ‘Tashia’, ‘Elyse’, ‘Lagertha’, and ‘Melita’. These being just some from their huge collection, and from what I’ve seen almost all of their newer hairs come with versions right in the pack you buy for no extra cost to fit mesh and prim breasts, which is pretty awesome!

/Wasabi Pills/
Almost all of the newer hair from /Wasabi Pills/ has alternate versions titled (BOOBS) to accommodate mesh or prim breasts, some of their older ones not meant for it can fit as well, a few of these beautiful hairs include ‘Anais’, ‘Julia’, ‘Sachiko’, ‘Sarah’, and ‘Tanya’. All beautiful and all boob friendly.

though there other hairs are nice, ‘Quiet Afterthought’ is the only hair from ::Exlie:: i have come across that has fit the mesh boobs to my satisfaction.

Though they both have some beautiful hairs i have not personally come across any long hairs that fit quite right with add-on boobs.

This stores hair can be a bit out there, but some of it is pretty nonetheless ‘Katya’ ‘Ruby’ ‘Stella’ ‘Stella V2’ and ‘Zelda’ are a few of the many from this creator, all having a separate [Lolas] version of the hairs.

‘CHIMERA’ ‘DAWN’ ‘DEVANA’ ‘PLONKA’ and ‘POLABIA’ are a few hairs ive found from eXxEsS. Most of the hairs i have seen from here fit very well will mesh or prim boobs, going around instead of through.

A Guide to Skin Matching Prim Breasts

The post we have to day has been put together by Madeea. It is in fact part of the older Full Breast manual before we went to the web version for ease of updating information. While the pictures are all based on the Full Breasts the instructions and advice are useful for matching any prim breasts or any attachment really. I have included the intructions in the images in text below it for easier translation via web tools for those who do not speak English natively.page 11Skin matching for your breasts: This can be a tedious process with any prim breast for new and veteran prim breast users. (skin tone shown as it comes out of the box not yet altered) With patience you will be able to get very close but it will not be a perfect match. There are many factors forever changing the way light is reflected on our avatar versus how it reflects on primitive objects. (like the breasts) What one person sees differs greatly from what another person sees based on many parameters. (such as graphics settings) There will not be a perfect graduation between your prim breast and your avatar. These are some of the minor things we endure to be able to have larger full breasts that do not look like square blocks sticking out from our chests. (for more help on managing that line see Skye’s post on smoothing the transition.)

The key is to try to match the shadows from your avatar with the shadows of the prim breasts.page 12It is best to start by choosing a skin base with shading similar to that of your avatars. Your avatar will have darker tones along the sides of the chest and the under arm area. Some avatar skins have warmer undertones, so you would probably prefer to choose a skin that has base shading from the red color ranges. Avatars with skin tones that fall into the cooler color categories will benefit more from choosing a skin tone with more olive or blue base shading. (in this example the skin is from Al Vulo – Sally natural 2 porcelain) I chose to go with an “Olive” base since the “Skin Set 1 Hud – Reds” have shadows that are still a bit too warm for this skin tone. Find a skin base that works for you and try using the color editor box to tint the base closer to your avatar skintone. I used 10(0) as my base. RGB 225,191,183. You can also manually enter your RGB value via chat with the microphone.

page 13  Skin Blend Layers: To help further blend your breasts to your skin, Skin Blend layers can be worn. These are lays of clothing worn to help further blend away markings on your avatar skin. (tattoo layers can also be created: skin blend flies are included) The Skin Blend Layer will appear white until you edit the layer and follow the same process used to tint your breasts. *skin blends are optional and not required for matching all skins. page 14In a different Light: Once you have matched your breasts with your avatar skin, you will want to try it in your favorite windlight setting to see if adjustments are still needed. As you can see minor adjustment is necessary. Keeping the same skin base I adjusted my hue value bar to lighten the skin tone. (Soft Nipple options provide a softer edge around the nipple helping them blend smoother against the skin.)page 15  More light comparison: Lighting will always be something we are struggling with and it will continue to change as SL is developed. It poses quite a challenge to prim breasts wearers but with time and patience you can achieve beautiful results. I hope this has been helpful in understanding better how SL handles lighting and why skin matching can be so complicated at times (this is also true for mesh attachments but SL handles light reflection off a mesh object in a way that is much more like how it handles light reflection of the base avatar mesh so the differences are much less noticeable.)

Smoothing the transition

(This week have a post from Skye about her experiences working to make the transition from your breasts to the SL avatar mesh less obvious. If you have something you would like to write about for our blog contact cali.ciaco to discuss it!)

Have you ever worked to make a really good outfit and couldn’t figure out how to smooth the line of sculpted breasts… or even mesh breasts that still end up having a line where the object meets the Avatar? Well in this post we’re going to talk about some great tips to hide that unsightly line to make your breasts look perfect even if they aren’t quite right.

I know I know, you’re saying, but but! I wear mesh boobies with skin appliers! But even those of you with mesh boobies, if you don’t line it up right or the lighting is odd you still get a line. Try your lighting at sunset and see what that line looks like then! That being said, this is mostly for those of you out there that still wear and love your sculpted Milk Made Breasts as they are because we know that color matching is the bane of all SecondLifers and even if it’s almost perfect, it’s never quite there. The secret is covering the line and making the illusion that the matching is close to flawless (with close matches).

We’ve used Midday, intentionally, for all of these pictures we’re providing, as that’s what most people in SL use. This is to show you just how well the line can be hidden and how, once hidden, the color has the illusion of matching. First up is a picture of nothing but the line! That line right there! You can see how, though really close, there is no denying that I’m wearing prim boobies.

So first up on our line covering options is something most people have figured out already, the Tank Strap. It fits snuggly around your precious titties and bumps right up to your chest so that nasty line is totally covered. It is also mod so you can resize it, adjust it and stretch it how you best see fit! It is the easiest option because its included in your :mused: Milk Made v1.30 package and designed to hold the pump tank. Even if you wear your pump tank somewhere else this is a good choice because you can wear it naked or clothed without much effort. I often blend it into outfits to even smooth the transition of clothing as well.

Next we will talk about clothes. There are many types of clothing options you can use, from full coverage to no coverage at all and that’s what I’m going to talk about today. A shawl/bolero/half shirt is a great way to hide the line and fudging where the start of your breasts are. Honestly, this can be done with Mesh or System Layer Clothing.

Anything that breaks up the space between your SL body and your Boobs will give the illusion of cover. Layers or combinations of system clothing, mesh or prims is really the most excellent way to merge this gap and leave you looking smooth and perfect. It’s one of my preferred methods!

You can see in the first picture I’m wearing a mesh jacket that hugs around my voluptuous chest (above) while in the second it’s all system layer clothing (below). Also consider moving your boobs, tilting, pushing them in and out to get the desired effect you want. Subtle movements can go a very long way in matching up the lines of appliers if the adjustment hud isn’t working out for you.

Next is the auspicious harness! I bring this up because it’s a perfect way to cover the top, though could require some boobie adjusting of size and position. I personally have two types of harnesses that I like to wear but just about any harness that has straps around and/or above the breasts is the look you’re going for. It’s very important to make sure that your harness has this as it covers flawlessly. You can find harnesses in sculpted prims, non-rigged mesh and rigged mesh (and even some clothing options with appliers).  This one here is the one I wear most commonly as it has a large chest piece that affords the most line coverage possible on something made out of straps!

For all you furries out there I have not forgotten you! Though in a lot of cases what’s been mentioned above can still work just as well for you. A non-human option that I’ve seen in some cases is the use of fluff!  Modding skills required! Some people build this from scratch or out of old hair or tail parts. This is really a prime way to mind that gap. Here’s an example:

This is just a basic guide, your style and how you cover (or uncover *winks*) yourself is up to you! I hope I’ve helped you understand that sometimes a trick of the eye can make the impossible possible while also giving you some ideas on how to smooth the transition between the SL Avatar and your Milk Made Breasts to help you create a more flawless look!

Hey musers!

I figured I would open the floor up for a Q&A post here are some of the questions we got:

Q: When is the Stud Pump coming out?

A: The short answer? When its ready. The long answer, :mused: does not like to set release dates because we want to get the product working with all the features we want to include as bug free as we can get it. This means that we want to be able to make it, test it, fix it, add more polish, test it, fix it, etc. as many time as is needed to get right. We are currently in the very early testing and polishing phases. We will release it when its ready and not a moment before or after. This means we are not rushed leaving in known bugs or leaving out desired features but will also not sit on a finished product waiting for an announced release date.

Q: When will the mesh breasts come out?

A: See above.

Q: The last post about them (the breasts and the stud pump) was kind vague when can we know more details?

A: We will release more details when we have them. The thing with this is we don’t want to just do “milkmade 2 now with semen” or “full breasts: the mesh edition” we want to make something different and better and compatible with what :mused: already carries and with as many other products that you might already use as we can. We will be making changes to the milkmade game to make it work with, but not require, the stud pump game and vise versa. We need to consider bonuses and make sure they are fair and balanced, we need to figure out how being a master would work for both systems, we need to plan for interactions etc. We also want to make sure our mesh breasts are not just a duplication of everything that’s already on the market, and that we can make them compatible with milkmade. For both products we want to be sure what we offer is the best  we can make it, in terms of appearance, ease of use, scripting, compatibility and the like. So at current we don’t have any more details than what we have already released to offer you but when we have them I will give them to you.

Q: Will the mesh breasts be a free upgrade for current users or will it a whole new thing I need to buy?

A: We will have a way for current milkmade users to upgrade to the mesh if they want to, however it is not a “free update” but a whole new product as such we have not sorted out the exact details for how this will work but it will mostly likely be from a milk exchange of some sort or perhaps a deep discount for current users. Also the prim version of milkmade will continue to work and be supported so that no one should feel obligate to go to the mesh version. Again not sure how we want to do it but we will be taking our current users base into account and will not be forcing anyone to go to mesh nor will we tell you to simply re buy the product, we will release more details on this once we have a better idea how we want to handle that.

Q: The last update to milkmade included xcite! compatibility, what is that and how does it work?

A: xcite! is an arousal system  that adds an extra element to sexual role play in Second Life. It allows you to set up and configure your “kinks” and likes and dislikes so that when playing with yourself or a partner your arousal will increase naturally depending on what is done with the system. They offer partner scripts so that other venders can have their product interact with the xcite! system, usually you will find it used with furniture or bondage equipment. Because milkmade lends itself to those with an interest in lactation as part of their sexual play and experience we wanted to add compatibility to other products that are also commonly used in such play for a more seamless experience. You can access the xcite! menu for the milkmade breasts from the settings menu. Which you can read more about in our manual linked here. We are considering adding compatibility to Sensations in the future which is a similar arousal system.

Q: On occasion there are people that are selling full tanks. After that whole milk duplication incident, there was a post on the website about careful milk buying, it got me to thinking as it seems only a siphon is supported – In cases like this where a user is selling a full tank, should they be selling the milk via a siphon first, and then the tank? Or are we still allowed to buy full tanks from other users?

A: Yes you can buy full tanks but carefully. We will support unique tanks in the system, that display on your stats and the milk in them, However, if the milk is found to have been created though an exploited it will not be supported. We have made changes to the system to make doing this much much harder but I would not go so far as to say its impossible as cheaters will do there best to work around the system. It would be best for record keeping for the milk to be sold via the siphon if possible. Also remember than when receiving any storage tank or bottle from another user either as a gift or as a sale to rez the tank afterword to be sure that the transfer of ownership went through correctly and that it will display on your stats.

  • Notification of who activated your lactation
  • Tube top applier object now has left and right uuid options.
  • New improved mesh nipple tape (does not effect tape applier settings)
  • Easier updating via update discs so you wont have to reconfigure your breast options.
  • Now compatible with Lola’s Tangos shirt appliers

Bug Fixes:

  • Leash and owners options now stick
  • Lactation lock persists through relog and detachment of breasts.
